A Night on the Town!!!!

Hi all, today was a great day. We all got some much needed rest, and Abby is getting better all of the time. She is getting so attached to us and she seems so happy. We are trying very hard not to spoil her to much but it is very hard. She played and made baby sounds and laughed a bunch today. She is sitting up much better on her own.

We also got a good copy of our Official adoption picture. We think it came out great. Our first portrait with Abby.

This evening Echo (our Chinese Guide) took us to see the fountains on the river. Abby was dressed to kill and ready to go in her stroller. It was amazing. Much like the fountains at the Bellagio in Vegas for those that have seen them. We had people coming up to us asking where we were from and school girls asking to take a picture with us. Felt a little like being a movie star :-))). Abby enjoyed it but it was at her bed time so she was a little tired. It was neat to see the local people enjoying themselves and to be part of it. The girl in the pictures with Debbie and Abby is Echo. She is doing post graduate studies in Linguistics, mainly English. She is very sweet and has been extremely helpful to us.

Tomorrow is our last full day in Nanchang. We are going to do a little more shopping, get Abby's passport and get our stuff packed to leave Saturday morning for Guangzhou.

Well time to get some sleep. Thank you all for your love and Prayers. We do feel that God has watched over us through the entire journey but especially this week. God Bless and see you soon.

Abby is beginning to lose that "pained" look on her face as she becomes more and more comfortable with y'all! That's a blessing to see! Enjoy your last day in Nanchang ... I know you are ready to come home! Lauren says hello!

Wonderful pictures and narrative. I am glad to know that you had such a wonderful day and that the bonding continues to flourish. Oh, about spoiling her- remember my prediction. That's why I wanted you to call her Rottina. I'm sticking to my story. Love, Donald

I have been following everyday and it is so good to see the wonderful smile on her face as you become more familiar - I remember the same looks on Gavin when he first came home but they quickly became smiles as I now see in Abby. I am glad that everything is going so well and look forward to seeing all of you when you return. I am so happy that everything is turning out so well for not only you and Mark but also Abby.

I almost wish Cassidi and Carys were coming with us to Baton Rouge. She and Abby are the same size and age! They would have fun getting to know their second cousins. I guess it can wait, I'm sure she's going to be totally overwhelmed as it is! WE are so looking forward to meeting our new niece. Little girls are so very special. They have a way of melting their daddy's hearts. (and breaking them, too!) Y'all have a safe trip home, we'll see ya then. Take care.

Debbie and Mark: my heart is filled with joy for you and Abby. You all look so very happy. I CANNOT wait to meet her. Trying not to spoil her is this what you said on your blog. Why not go for it......

So glad things were better today and you all got some rest. Boy what a difference just a few days make. Looking at the difference in Abby from the adoption photo to the one of her in her stroller is almost like looking at two different children. She is so much more relaxed. I'm still wanting to eat her up.

Love to all,
Auntie Ruth
